The classic two-color quilt appeals to all types of quilters.
Choosing Fabric: You can pick a number of different whites and
off-whites. For the contrasting color, the classic two-color quilt uses red or
blue. But you can use your favorite color. Choose one contrasting fabric or use a
handful in the same color way.
Number of 2 1/2" Strips: You need 5 strips of light and 3 of dark for
the Baby, 15 of light and 7 of dark for the Throw, 30 of light and 15 of dark
for the Full, 40 of light and 19 of dark for the Queen. You can use fat quarters
without additional piecing. One fat quarter or quarter yard cut will yield the
equivalent of 3 strips.
